Holkham

The stunning coastal landscape, magnificent stately home, rolling parkland and dramatic skies make Holkham a wonderful place to visit. This former hunting lodge nestles amongst the trees. A generous orangery extension has created a fantastic kitchen and dining space, flooded with natural light. We were asked to design and make a kitchen island as a focal point for the new room that was in-keeping with the elegant style of the house, but also functional and user friendly.

One side houses an integrated dishwasher and pull-out recycling bins, the other, a set of seven deep drawers; pan drawers at the bottom and cutlery drawers at the top – lined with grey wool baize.

The work top is Quartzstone built up to 50mm thick with an ogee-bullnose edge.  It is shaped with a gentle radius at each end.

Paint colour is Little Greene – French Grey Light.

As well as the kitchen, we also made the skirtings, doors, architraves, pillars and the panelled surround to the lantern.
